My name is John Totten. I am a musician, photographer, writer, podcaster and psychotherapist in Seattle. This is a hub for all those endeavors.

I was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. I attended the University of Tennessee to study jazz. After college, I moved to Seattle and worked as a musician and journalist before attending graduate school at The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology for counseling psychology. 

After working with marginalized populations in community settings for several years, I opened my private practice. 

The culmination of of all these endeavors has been my podcast Between Us, which is a journalistic investigation of the therapeutic encounter from both sides of the relationship. It can be heard wherever you find podcasts.
